Life as an Advanced Diploma Student

Here comes the purple dinosaur!
RAWRRRRRRR *T-Rex style entrance*
Put your hands up for Purpleeee Dinooooooo

Hey guys, how you've been?
I hope you are well. I'm alright. Not very good but not very bad either. Moderate living.

I'm feeling a lil' bloated lately. All this intake of big portion of food is so gonna make me go rounder and rounder. Not that I'm not round enough yet. I blame the K.L. portion. HAH!

I miss writing so here  I am. I've been so so busy lately. Partly it's because my car is in B.M./hometown- depending on public transportation and my dearest second sister. Second, the class schedule is funny, I mean late? On Tuesday/my only class is a lecture from 6pm-8pm. However, I am really grateful cause I'm somehow luckier than tutorial class number 8 that they have classes on Saturday. Hell yeah. Mine? nope. So I can pack my bag and travel home to my lovely hometown :D

My personal opinion: K.L Tunku Abdul Rahman is way too big. A rough estimate would be 4 times the size of Penang Branch Campus. Okay, maybe I have over exaggerated. But walking such a long journey makes me drenched in sweat. I do hope the person who sat next to me wouldn't faint. That would be either Sok Theng or Zheng Khin. HEE HEE. nah. I'm just joking.

I've made a few new friends. Some are cool, some are real sweet. Oh yes, I'm thick faced enough to ask for their names. Well, someone's gotta start somewhere. Step out of your comfort zone yo'.

It's Thursday and I decided to pamper myself since class is at 1.00 p.m. I did a hydrating mask.

RAWRR! Highly recommended: Aqua Boost Moisturizing Mask by SaSatinnie RM4.90

I've made a cool salad. A tomato, half a cucumber, 3 slightly crushed with bare hands wheat crackers. A slice of cheese. A dash of olive oil. I didn't put any in salt because I thought the cheese would be salty. Apparently it's not but then again I'm lazy so NO SALT. Eating at this moment while typing.

My breakfast/lunch. Yum~
I decided to look pretty today to go to school. Not that I'm not pretty. RIGHT??  *bps/thick face mode on*

Anyway, ignore me. I'm so gonna be late. HAHAHA. And yea, I was late. And classes were okayyy. I think. Almost fell asleep in lecture- as usual. Business IT Application subject today was fun actually. I'm surprised. XD. It's not that I don't like teachers thus I fall asleep, it's because I have a short attention life span.
AND THAT'S A REALLY BAD THING FOR ME WHEN I'M AT WHERE I AM. Adv Diploma.

Dinner with my sisters in Decanter, Bukit Damansara. Great place unfortunately there's no more seat in the restaurant, we had to sit outside but then again, there's a good view of luxurious cars. WEEE~ :D

Heavenly taste. Asparagus soup. RM5
Grilled Chicken Chop with Mashed Potato. The Chicken was a bit dry though. RM22
Well, that's all for now. I'm adapting. It's new and I know it's gonna be fun. I am really grateful with all the things I have for now. Thank God/Buddha and everybody :D Cheers people.

Signing off with kisses and hugs. Free hugs. When you see me, you can redeem it.
Shout- "Purple Dino, I want a hug"
Valid till 31 October 2012. Now, don't be shy. :P

Young Again

Helloooooooooo everybody!!!!
I miss you guys so much! mwah mwah <3

It's been awhile since my last blog. I'm finally in Kay Elle baby!! :D College is starting soon on the 18th of Sept. AHHHHHhhhhhh~
Yesh, please do welcome me.                 *bow bow, wave wave*

Oh and yesh, I cut off of my hair. I no longer feel old. I feel so energetic.
*Jumps around like an overweight monkey*

Playground. Since I'm "young" again, I shall vandalize the facility.
I've been having long hair ever since I don't know when. The last time I cut my hair was like Chinese New Year. Yea, that long. XD. I used to cut my hair every month when I was in Secondary school.
Not only I look old, I look quite lifeless you see. AHA!

They say if you cut your hair after every break up or a fight or any major changes in life, it gives you a Brand New You. Get it? lol. Now go get a haircut.

I'm sho cute. You couldn't deny my cuteness can you? :P
By forgoing the last chance of going "Pasar Malam" before leaving home, I went and did it. It was an impulsive haircut on Friday night. 7.00 p.m. Sam's Studio. RM25. At first, I really regretted it. My face looked extremely huge in compare to my shorter hair. Erm, the truth was, my long hair is suppose to cover/hide my chubby, "bak bak" face. And now it's gone. Poof!
So now I have to slim down by a little bit.

My niece. 2 years old. She's one cutie pie. <3

K.L. was cooler than home. Food was not as bad as I think it was. Drivers here however are quite fast. I mean real fast. For a newbie like myself, there is no sense of security at all when it comes to driving around. I got lost. I can only rely on GPS. Lol. No worries, a few more lessons of getting lost, I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. ;)

Till then, take care readers. Looking forward to see you guys. :D

Signing off with love and kisses. Avec amour. <3

What Was Once A Dream Became A Mystery Today

Salam my friends,
A peek into my emotions perhaps? Feeling kinda' exhausted lately. It's the pre-don't-feel-like-leaving-Penang-syndrome. I am so gonna miss my old life here. Previous daily routines were no longer the same and the changes have been for a better reason. I'm just learning to adapt to it but now I need to leap forward into another new stage of life. (Not getting married lah) The life that I once imagine living in. Studying in Kuala Lumpur. Living with both my sisters.

I didn't cry. No, not yet. Perhaps I should try crying to relief the anxiety. It's been bothering me. Feeling all restless again. The same feeling when I'm facing my exam. The anxiety. It kills.

Time is moving forward. Everything actually. Too fast for me to understand why things happen. I like them to remain as it is. To freeze at a point until I press the "play" button to resume the old rhythm of moving forward. It's just too fast. I am not ready.

I need to talk to someone. To share with. For that particular person to understand how I feel. A good friend perhaps or a stranger.

I Love Thailand : C̄hạn rạk pratheṣ̄thịy

I'm not sure what "na kap" means, but I just like to end every of my sentence with "na kap". Kinda' influenced by the culture over in Thailand. Yes, I went there at 2.00 p.m. last Thursday and came home around 9.30 p.m.last night after having dinner with my aunt and her family.

Welcome to Thailand is the first thing that caught my interest after a long boring journey of traveling in a Mercedez van. Great van I must say, great driver too. There were lots of vehicles queuing at the border between Thailand and Malaysia. The last time I went Thailand was early 2006 and I was still young. Not much to remember from there. This was a really awesome trip and I'll tell you why. ;)

A  warm welcome. I was thrilled.
I was always fascinated at the immigration place. Always wondered, what if I possessed illegal substance. What would happen to me? They didn't even check my luggage. How would they know if I have a hold on drugs or whatever. Not that I'm asking for trouble. Just pure curiosity. It also seems that they no longer uses the machine to scan for fingerprints to verify ones passport. I suck when it comes to using the automatic machine, I have no thumbprints you see. I lost my thumbprints because due to dish washing.

Sight: rubber tree plantation along the journey from the border to Hatyai.

From the border there's a 45 minutes drive to reach Hatyai, the city of Thailand. The place I stayed  with my family is Golden Crown Plaza. In my point of view, the place looks kinda like New York City. Walking distance from blocks to blocks. Not that I've visited New York yet. No. :P

Along the journey to Hatyai, I saw all the vehicles is coated with a layer of thick dust. The scenario is like driving in dessert. It is a developing country. I'm not complaining, just merely sharing what I saw. I really like this place. Peace and calm. Shops with the size of half of the an existing shop lot in Bukit Mertajam, the people lived a simple life. I'm not comparing with those living in bigger cities like Bangkok and other places. Just Hatyai.

Upon reaching  the hotel, we checked in and freshen up and head out for dinner. The white tomyam is highly recommended. Had it for the first time, and I loved it. I'm really impressed that the people there speaks "mandarin" and "hokkien" which makes the tourists at ease. Communication is not a problem. Food is superb. We traveled on foot.

I've made my decision on what things to buy as I walked by all the small kiosk along the roadside. After dinner, I immediately started shopping. Next, we went Central Shopping Mall. Big. Lot's of imported goods over there. You should see the cheese sections. *drop jaws*

My first foot reflexology. A shop opposite Regency Hotel, with the name of Pailin. There's free WIFI thus I posted a status in Facebook saying something that readers would kill to be in my shoes. I think. XD
My masseur, an eighteen years old boy with the name of Phon. I'm not sure how to spell it right, but that's how it sounded like. Swy jing jing he said to me. Very pretty it means. He kept asking if it hurts, the massage I meant, I said no, instead when it comes to the sole of my foot, I cannot stop giggling. I'm super sensitive lah. Geli was all I could reply.

Red toenails. My favourite.

I did pedicure and manicure at the same time of the foot reflexology. I wonder if the masseur felt that I'm slightly fat, my legs. He did exert a lot of energy while pressing the acupressure points. HAHAHA. A lady did my pedicure and manicure. I chose red colour for my toenails and transparent colour for my fingernails. I wouldn't wanna look like a zombie, not yet. XD

The foot reflexology does not end with a foot massage but hands, neck, head, face, and bending of my body in weird ways to stretch those "unstretched" muscles. All I could hear was Kraaaakkkk. Cripsy 20 years old body. AHHHH~

Pailin. After the relaxing session. My mana regen is full!
Went back to the hotel room to shower. It was 11.00 p.m. for Malaysian time and one hour earlier for Thailand time. I see no difference by the way of looking at the Sun. XD. Since I'm in Thailand and I'm very enthusiastic about it, I wore a shirt saying I love Bkk, Bangkok as my pajamas.

My newly done fingernails. WEEE <3

Shopping, cute sandal. 140 baht = RM14

Renowned Duck Egg Char Kuey Teow

My dearest readers, it's been awhile since the last time I ask how are you guys doing.
How are you my extremely awesome people?
Weather has been really hot in Malaysia. The Sun is not being very kind now, does he? Having lots of ice-kacang I assume? ;)

Today I would like to share the joy of having to savour Duck Egg Char Kuey Teow after a period of 6 months. Before I was on a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet, I didn't have the chance to eat them. Now you can imagine how my first mouthful of yummylicious char kuih teow melts in my mouth. Not really melts. As in the taste. DUHH? :P
IT WAS THE BOMB BABYYY~

The origin of the Famous Duck Egg Char Kuey Teow.
There were 3 brothers. All of them has their own stall all over Bukit Mertajam. A small town area which has a lot of good food. They are all class A of course. I grew up there. Living all my life eating them.

Place: 1. Train station, 2.Taxi Stand, 3. Near Old Town in Kampung Baru (walking distance from Oldtown)
Operation time: 8.00 p.m.- 1.00 a.m.or more maybe.

What's so special about this Duck Egg Char Kuey Teow?

1. For obvious reason, it uses duck egg instead of normal chicken eggs which makes it taste better but ends up giving you a higher cholesterol. (I think) O.O but damn it does make a huge difference.                    *raise glass- TRUE STORY*

2. The person frying the "kuey teow" uses charcoal as the source of fire which gives an even spread of heat, which enhances the taste of the "kuey teow".

3. It has fried egg as toppings with a splash of dark soya sauce. Ohh Yumm. One bite, and the egg yolk will burst inside your mouth.

4. Notice the person frying it? He uses a spatula or whatever you call it. It is really tiny. Legend has it that he uses so much force in frying and with the heat, it kinda' mold the whole thing into smaller shape compared to when he first bought it. LEGEND HAS IT!

5. It uses pork oil /*bak yiu* and therefore, it is non-hafal. Chinese believes that using pork oil can make the kuey teow taste better. I second that.

Alright. Enough of the adjectives. Let's put some pictures as proof.
*Drum rolls~*

And yes, it does taste good. There are succulent prawns, cockles(shelled), and bean sprouts.

OM NOM NOM!

Simple joys in life. Good food. Great company. Makes life worth living.
Mouth-watering eh? :D

Oh yesh. Naked face. Pay close attention to the detail of the "kuey teow"

P.s. More pictures of me with the "duck egg char kuey teow" will be coming up. Bear with me, as the pictures are being held hostage by my girlfriend, Janet Lee.
P.s.s. I am not a lesbian. Not and Not Yet. Girlfriends mean female friends in purple dino's vocabulary. ;)

Stay awesome and hawt' people!
Signing off with love and flying kisses from ADORABLE PURPLE DINOSAUR. MWAH MWAH.

Attending a Birthday Dinner of a Long Lost Friend

It's Monica's Birthday on 1st of September, her parents decided to throw her a birthday dinner in Country Club, Bukit Mertajam, Penang. She had invited me through Facebook event. I wasn't really that close with her. We went to the same school in primary and secondary. Great school. She was one of the famous Three Musketeers in the first class. A real smart girl and a bookworm too. But last night, it was a night to remember.

It was 6.52 when I departed from my house. I knew that I was going to be late, despite the fact that the event stated 7.00 pm. I was determined that Monica would have reached by then. Finally, I arrived at the destination. Spotted her father. I think he is. No doubt. Luckily, she wasn't there yet. Phewww.. She got lost on the way there. Her brother teased her by saying "she had been "American-ised" after staying in Seattle, United States for more than a year. I couldn't stop laughing. She literally took the wrong route all the way to the badminton court near Chow Chuen- The New Dim Sum Restaurant. XD

Jorene was the next to arrived. A sense of relieved washed over me. Someone I knew was finally here. WeeEE.. :D You can only imagine how grateful I was. Jorene is currently studying abroad too. Both Monica and Jorene were and still  very smart students. Chin Chon(CC) arrived. Apparently he's from Jit Sin. They were all from the same college previously.

Monica's mum invited us to enter the dining area. I was quite desperate to get in because I was drenched in sweat. Earlier I rejected her father's offer because I didn't know where to sit. You know, awkward moment do arise. TEE HEE

We had a bit of the chat and the electricity decided to trip right before Monica's entrance. How grand I thought. A well-planned surprise? Nahhh. Just a coincidence.

Once she entered, (*the room was still in dark condition*), I handed her her birthday present. I really hope she will like it. A purse with a cute Bling Bling ribbon. I went to Sunway Carnival Mall to get it. Whoops.. If she see's this, she'll go hunting for it. Wouldn't she? :D

Each and every one of their family members was really awesome. Sarcasm does not only come from adults but her younger brother at the age of  11. A really talented boy I must say. *Salute him*. There were 3 sweet young girls whom one of it was Monica's younger sister and the other two was her cousins if I'm not mistaken. Monica's family was really welcoming despite being different in race. Nope, not a problem at all. Noted: I love non-racist people.

The first dish was finally served and Mr. Ashwini asked if we could say grace. My first encounter having dinner with a Christian family for as long as I can remember. It was cool. We're cool. I'm cool as I was from a Buddhist family. I respect all religions prayers. I tilted my head down contemplating on whether I should close my eyes as well. Still contemplating, the prayer came to an end. Whoops.

Mr. Ashwini insisted that we, the guests started eating first. He said, "It is our culture to let the guest savour the food before we do". I was thinking of having elderly person starts first. Oh well, "makan sajalah" said Jorene. The first dish was "Wu Fook Ling Men" (five types of different dishes in a plate). Great scallops with celery, Fried eggs with Shark Fins, Dumpling, Kerabu (Mango) and one more which I cannot remember what was it. Sighhh.. I'm old. Second dish was "Kung Po Deer Meat" (fried deer meat in dried chillies). I thought it was chicken. Silly me. XD

The third dish was Fried Tofu in Spicy Curry Sauce. It was really good. Next, it was the Herbal Chicken wrapped in aluminium foil. Someone from the family teased CC in asking, "you should teach us the proper way to eat this". HAHAHA. Epic much as three of us do not know what is the proper way of eating Herbal Chicken. Do you? :P For me, as long as it ends in the tummy, I have no problem with how to eat them.

The fifth dish was "Fatt Thiu Cheong". A bowl made of fried yam with the filling of fried vegetables and fish balls.  Om Nom Nom~

The sixth dish was the Steamed Fish in Red Blended Chilli Sauce. Slight hint of lemon in the Chilli Sauce makes it really appetizing. I decided to scoop the best part of the fish, known to me which is the tummy of the fish to the grandmother. Wrong move I think when Mr Ashwini said, "She's the head of the family, thus she'll take the fish head". "Alamak!", was all I could think about. Monica's uncle said, "Nevermind, nevermind, you can scoop the fish from her plate and put it in yours". I commented and started laughing. Unsure of the reason but it was just too funny. ><

Along the dinner session, I came to know some of the experiences of studying in America. There are 51 states in United States. Monica said, "you can take a lifetime to tour around and cannot even finish touring". I was like Wow!. So much of being "bagai katak di bawah tempurung". And, most Americans are racists. Furthermore, be sure that your name does not have Muhammad in it.

According to Jorene, Seattle is a really cold place. Two years back, the snow was 6 feet tall. Can you imagine the height of the snow is deeper than the depth of a normal swimming pool. Luckily it did not occurred again while she's there. Whereas for Monica and CC, they are studying in Seattle, it wasn't so cold as compared to Chicago. Both the girls invited me to go America as they can provide me with the accommodations. I was nodding, unsure what reply I could give. *Money~ The exchange rate will be around RM3.80 I think.*

The seventh dish was the "Shang Min", fried noodles in starchy egg sauce with prawns and green vegetables. I was really bloated, as I took a lot of rounds of the noodles. It was yummy. A joke by the father. "Dig deeper" to scoop them. LOL.

Oh before I forgot, I asked Jorene.
Me:  "Do you wanna hear a two short joke and a one long joke?". *From Niga Higa*
Jorene: Sure.
Me: Joke, Joke, JOOOOOKKKKKEEEE. *accompanied with an annoying facial expression*
Jorene: *She gave me the Lame sign.*
Me: HAHAHAHHAHA!                                         *I think I got a Lame Award for it too. :O*

Jorene's turn.

Jorene: If this is one tree, *with her holding out one of her finger* what tree is this? *her holding out five fingers.
Me: Five trees.
Jorene: Nope. It's a "Palm tree".
BUAHAHHAHAHA. Sorry. I can't help it. If you had seen her expression. Priceless. :D

Finally, it was the dessert session. Sago in Honey Dew soup with Vanilla Ice-cream toppings. YUMMYY~
Monica's birthday cake was specially made to contain less sugar and no cream. I can't remember what is it. All I know was that it's a real pretty cake. Lots of miniature like panda, lion, ladybugs and marshmallows were on the cake. Not to forget lots of hearts too. Love is in the air!

A birthday song was sang. It was such a warm get-together. Monica made a wish and blew the lights of the candles off. Welcome to the club! Finally 20.  :D TEE HEE. We ate two slices of the cake each. Really bloated.

A picture was taken as a form of memory? P.s. I look fat in it. Ngek.

From left: Jorene, Monica, Me and Chin Chon
Below: 1Q84, Purse with Ribbon and a Bouquet of Flowers
This picture was stolen from Monica's facebook. :D

A departing session with hugs and handshakes end the dinner. Monica's never ending smile is so cheer-y. There was never ending family love flowing throughout the whole dinner.  The grandma gave me a cheek-to-cheek farewell. AWWWW... sho sho sweet~ Jorene gave me a hug. Caught me off guard.  A warm hug and I liked it. :D It was great meeting everyone last night.

It was indeed a night to remember. Warm and fuzzy with me ended up returning home still feeling warm and fuzzy. Whoops.

Signing off with love from Purple Dino, Mwah Mwah :D
