Janet's 21st Celebration in Hard Rock Cafe, Penang

"Hello this is Hard Rock Hotel Penang, how may I rock your world?"

Dearest readers,
You would have probably heard this line if you were to call the Hard Rock Hotel in Penang to make reservation. I've made a reservation in the cafe late afternoon last Monday for 3 pax for Nerd Nerd's birthday. Had a discussion with Jmin's on the whereabout to held the dinner in Penang. We narrowed down to Hard Rock and Babylon Beach (Mistaken it for another restaurant but turns out to be Mansion 32). Lol. Epic Phailed! We decided to go with Hard Rock Cafe because of the great food and great ambiance. Again, it was a great choice! Each and every time Hard Rock proves to be more than worth it.
The restaurant staff who's in charge of my reservation was more than helpful by inquiring more and also asked if I needed any assistance in getting a cake from there and requesting the band to sing the Birthday Song. Much love. Thank you!

I decided on the theme of the night which was beachwear. Bright color sundresses, sandals, ponytails, chiffon dresses, bikini with see through tops. That sort of thing. I am the driver because we were running late. Drove like a mad cow but safely again- with Jmin's Vios (Which of course, professional driver who drives everyday to Penang for the past two years else, do not try this at home) LOL. Bought Janet an Opera cake and store it in the car booth. Picked the birthday girl. And we finally arrived at 9.00 for dinner. P.s. All the pictures are taken using handphone because Janet forgot to bring her camera while Jmin forgot to charge her camera. -.-

And when the food finally arrived! The look on our face was like hungry ghost. HAHAHA! We were so efficient because all the photos were then taken almost instantaneously so that we can start to feast!

I don't care if you have not done capturing, I'm going to start eating RIGHT NOW!

We went feeding each other to tryout each others main whilst I get to eat only the side dishes. LOL. I am a goat for 6 months. Tee Hee. We kept praising how good was the food throughout the whole main course. The server finally came and cleared the table away while I've been on my toes for the birthday surprise to come because the band is getting ready. Jmin kept giving clear hints that Janet is going to the center of the stage if the band were to invite her. I was trying to steer that idea into the impossible direction to hide the surprise.



The Band Of The Night: Tiempo Tiempo

I know right. They are so good looking. My type of guys. Okay, Our type. :P

Tiempo Tiempo will be performing till August 2013 in Hard Rock Cafe Penang!

The first song performed that night was Right Here Waiting by a Saxophone player. We were all melted at the sight of the player and heavenly instrumental song

Now I get it why do people love listening to live band. Especially when it is this good.

The moment he started singing, we went head over heels. Sounded exactly like Chris. Only better because it's live.

Manex Dolencio sang "Yellow" by Coldplay
Danny Morris Maputol sang "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" by The Script

We love the band so much that if it wasn't my father said, "Time to go home.", we would have stayed till the band finished singing which would be around 2.00 a.m. The reason we loved and enjoyed listening to the band is that they kept surprising us with new things. Five out of the seven people in the band sings. Most of them play more than one instrument. Bass Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Electrical Guitar. MAD LOVE! How electrical guitar does not fail to impress me every time. The speed and precision of the player makes my jaw dropped. They mimicked the original artists so well that if you were to close your eyes, you would have thought they were the original singers. BADASS!

*Drum rolls*
The Birthday song finally came with the server holding the cake with a lighted candle. The band then invited Janet to go into the center of the empty of the space right in front of the stage and make a wish and blow the candle. The crowd sang along the Birthday Song too. So romantic. ;)

After that, cake feeding session and we then resume watching the live band. We were definitely in the hyped up mood. Just like being in a concert but in a more well behaved manner. LOL. My handphone decided to ring and that's when Daddy called. When I got back, the band took a break. I then proceed to settling the bill.

We even got the chance to shake hands and take pictures with the members of the band. Jmin was so so excited. I don't know what's gotten into her that she decided to cling on his hand and he caught her off guard by pulling her close by the waist and that's when I took their picture. She was so surprised and was smiling so happily. If only you have seen it. <I was there to witness it. HAHAHA>

With heavy heart, we stepped out of the cafe and we're ready to throw Janet her final surprise. I drove the car to elsewhere to get ready whereas Jmin is in charge of distracting her. I then parked the car in front of the cafe entrance when I was done. I'd even asked Amelia (Staff) and the Supervisor to help with the arrangements. When I got ready, I tried searching for them because Jmin left her handphone in the car. All my calls went unanswered and I went back to the cafe in hope of finding them admiring the band but I was surprised to see none of them. Finally, I found them with THE GIGANTIC GUITAR.

The surprise sort of failed because Janet saw I was jumping around preparing the arrangements. I was tiny bit disappointed. LOL. But when she said "Who needs a boyfriend when you have great friends to do this for you?" I knew then it was all worth it because she has grown up. :)

We were so reluctant to leave that night. Our thoughts were still lingering to the performance of the band.

Thanks to Amelia who had arranged the Birthday Song and the appearance of the Opera Cake and also helping me to arrange the candles in glasses. It was burning hot. Much love <3
