Amyotropic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)

Hello my lovely readers, I have been MIA for like so long. HAHAHA

I have been quite sick last weekend, so all my weekend planning to do ALS Ice Bucket challenge and donation had to be put on hold as all I do was to sleep after every meal.

Don't worry now, as I'm fully recovered, or at least I think I am. *giggles*

So all my planning can proceed as planned! I would like to take this opportunity to thank my dear old friend Lee Yi Hui, all the way from New Zealand. Sending you love from all the way from Malaysia. Thanks yo! :D Without her nomination  I wouldn't have thought of donating to ALS Association.

Not only it is a way to create awareness among this generation of the disease but also to help them by donating by monetary term(for ALS research purpose) or time(spent with patients) or gifts(toys & etc).

Seeing this makes me very happy. Not a word is accurate enough to describe how I feel after seeing this.

A brief explanation of what is ALS. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease," is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body.

In laymen term would be the brain losing the control of all your muscle which leads to patients being completely paralyzed.

It reminds me of a great book by Mitch Albom by the title of Tuesday With Morrie. I've learnt from the book that usually we, humans chase after the wrong things until we or someone close to us are diagnosed with deadly disease. It changes the perspective of the individual itself. This expensive bag or a pair of shoe wouldn't matter so much when our life or someone close to us's life is at stake.

However, by saying this, we should not stop living and enjoying life altogether. After all, we are just human. *insert the song Human- Christina Perry*

Okay. Jokes aside, live and enjoy life not to the expense of others. Bring joy to others as well. Be it a smile to a stranger or helping a visually impaired person going into the lrt.

Casino Royale Double "O" 7

Hello and hey my dearest readers. How you doin' my sexy readers? *Wink wink*

This would be one hell of a post. Let me see if I can clear your doubt with just one sentence.

I had finally entered the casino for the very first time.Yeap. You heard it right. My gambling virginity was given to the Casino in Genting. I wore "Tor Haii" which originally it was white in color which then turns to gray/whatever colour you'll see later. Not pretty.

You see, I've always watched too much of Hollywood movies and Hong Kong movies where you have to dress to kill to enter casino while placing a minimum of 10 grand for a bet. HAHAHA. *Insert laughing/crying emoticon* Who am I kidding like really.. The look of the casino was quite grand. The whole atmosphere was so different. The place was filled with the smell of smoke because people are allowed to smoke inside. I see people from all over the world. China(mostly), Bangladeshi(a handful) and lastly, local people. From young adults whom jump from table to table of different gambling games to elderly people in wheelchair playing the slot machines was quite a new view for me. A whole new experience.

As usual, anything that concerns money, I'm quite careful. I don't gamble on something that I don't know. It began with me wondering around the places and started to understand the game by watching strangers playing. I got hooked with "Dai Sai"/ "Sic Bo"or Hazard or something similar to Chuck-A-Luck.

I wasn't great at maths but simple probability hunch would be useful. For example, for the past three out of four rounds, the dice resulted in SMALL, there is a higher probability of the next round opening SMALL. Anyhow all of this is really subjective and usually people played according to their "Feeling"

Finally, I went over a table which attracted me. Part of it was that the dealer was really cute.  The dealer had to do the standard hand movements when people change cash into tokens by scanning and inserting the money into a box using something similar to plastic dough slicer to press it in. Also part of it was- it was occupied by a rich couple. I'm puzzled and attracted at the same time. Why can people sit at the same table for the past few hours? After 2-3 hours I understood. It it so easy to lost track of time when you're in the casino. It's an extremely scary fact to begin with.

You can change your cash into tokens at the game table and there is a cashier for people to cash out their tokens into ringgits or other currency?. I've learnt so many lessons spending 2-3 hours in there. I don't gamble every rounds when I don't feel like it. You should stop playing once you won exceeding your capital. Your greed will only cause you to lose all the money(that includes the capital and the winnings).

I of course was no exception to betting but I played the minimum bet. It's more like winning, losing, winning, losing, losing, winning, winning, losing, losing, winning, winning, losing, losing, losing, losing, losing. Something like that. It went for about quite some time as I did not place my bet for every round. It's more testing the water. Guessing for the next round of results without placing any bets. But the amount of self control needed was tremendous. I almost fell into the- going to place more bets than I have allocated to spend.

It is inevitable to feel that your heartbeat accelerating, red flushes of the face, secretly chanting for the results you bet on, saying "Popi popi" and etc. Winnings made me feel smug while losing made me agitated. It is an extremely valuable lesson that I will not forget the rest of my life. I can proudly said that I've tick off the list of to do in life.

It's best not to enter the casino again because I can see that the temptation is really really great. Anybody can be a gambling addict. It is exhilarating. Winning and losing money through gambling within 2 mins. I did see someone buying RM500 on BIG and lost that round. It was like a drop-jaw-moment for me.

There's a lot of CCTV cameras around and thus I don't dare to take pictures in the casino. Please bear with me.

Oh ya, I'm pretty sure you know that Genting has been closed since last September for renovation or revamp the outdoor theme park. So it's like demolishing the whole outdoor theme park. Fascinating. :D

The Red Bean Bag/ Salon Du Chocolat/ Caffe Bene

Hello my awesome possum, cute & adorable readers. Yes you! The one reading my blog. *Nods head* This is a super overdue blogpost. Firstly, it happened on last Labor Day. I know right. Only blogged about it now. -.-  Food Hunting Session with my fellow classmates since Advance Diploma had ended. Or at the least at the moment I thought it was. BURNNNNN- HAHAHA.

After my finals, I had a mini outing with my fellow classmates whom were Kathy, Jasmine, Sok Theng and Zheng Khin. It was quite a random food hunting session for us. We went separately since ZK, Sok & Jasmine was from Genting Klang while me and Kathy was from Kepong. :D. It was quite hilarious, we wanted to try Bingsu from Caffe Bene. I googled it and saw its in Solaris Mont Kiara. My brain registered it as Publika. Off we went, reached, parked, and we went rounds and rounds looking for Caffe Bene. So So Embarrassing. Finally, one of us found out that it's not there and we changed to The Red Bean Bag.

Chocolate Molten Larva Cake
The white oval thingy coated with chocolate syrup was an ice-cream. It melted for quite a bit while we were busy taking pictures of it. HAHA!
It was so-so in my opinion. I had better. :)

I guess the plus point would be the chocolate larva oozing out upon slicing.
It was raining/ cloudy and we're sitting outside,
not much lighting so pictures doesn't look very appealing.

Specialty Baked Eggs
It was okay. There's beef sausages inside. Aubergine& tomatoes too. Loads of cheese. RM18.
The best baked eggs I had was in Nutmeg around 10-11am, where the eggs are really runny.
Ugly but super comforting food.
The second time I went Nutmeg which is around 6pm also for the baked eggs, the eggs was seriously overbaked and thus, it taste no good. Too dry.

Although the food was so so, it didn't stop us from spamming #wefie here and there. Yeeehaaaaa!

Overall, I find The Red Bean Bag's food overpriced. With the price that we are paying, I expect it to have a minimal standard. Didn't make me go ooh and ahh much. Might need to give it a second chance one day because I have been seeing quite a number of nice reviews on the internet. I think the famous one would be Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon?

Love this picture although it's blurry and full of noise.

We only ordered one to share among the five of us. It is very filling. Super yummy. The best Chocolate Crepe in the history for me at the moment. HAHAHA. After diggin' in such a good dessert, we then drove off to Caffe Bene in Solaris Mont Kiara. Since it was the main thing that we wanted to try on that day. Wooohooo. Arrived and saw a lot of people queuing up.

Personally, I don't fancy Bingsu. It failed to impress me because I ate it the wrong way for the first time. You are suppose to mash everything in the cup into like Cendol style so that it will be flavourful. Therefore, I find Oreo Cookie tasteless because I scooped only the ice without other ingredients on my first visit. Big mistake. Huge mistake. Nuff said.

Bonding session with friends and food hunting was fun. Really loved the Chocolate Crepe. Highly recommended to you readers! Maybe I shall go there for another round. Left the last stop feeling really bloated. Burpp!

Disclaimer, it's all personal opinion. Maybe my taste bud wasn't functioning that well for that particular day. It wasn't meant to hurt/ causes anyone to lose their job or whatever. Just my 2 cents. Cheers people!

Truth Hurts

Hello my dear readers. God, I miss my blog so much. How long has it been eh?
So as you all know, I got rejected to UK because I failed an internal exam paper so yea. Not going. That's okay with me actually. As time goes by, I thought to myself, I was actually relieved. I wasn't sure if financially, it would be sufficient or would I be able to cope with the stress of adapting to new environment while studying the syllabus required. I was relieved. To be honest, at first when I found out that I failed a paper, I don't believe it. That paper was Advance Taxation. LOL. The paper that I managed to finish on time you see. None of my preceding papers that I managed to finish it. So I thought, I did pretty well. It turns out to be a disaster completely.

Definitely, no one is to be blamed for the results but myself. I try not to give myself a hard time when it comes to things like this. I learn not to dwell in the results issue because firstly, there is no point as it cannot help you to un-fail the paper. Secondly, it gives you a lesson. I always do believe in "Things happened for a reason". It may be a bad reason- who knows, but still, it is a reason- or whatsoever.

Some readers must be saying like, "Aiyah, fail only ma, as if I didn't fail before". No Honey, it's not like any of the fail I had before. Studying overseas has been my dream ever since I was in Primary School. I also did say that I will marry someone with BLUE EYES (come to think of marrying a blue eyes person is no longer valid in my life: Cause I don't like them that much anymore)  :O

So that part would be the Part 1 of truth hurts but I am dealing with it, I meant, I've dealt with it and moved on. *wink*

Here comes part 2. LOL. Okay, many of you would have guessed it right. But no, I will not clarify in specifically who is this person. Let's keep it a mystery as this makes the one way conversation from me to you much more interesting.

I've met someone, quite a catch. But no, things did not work out with him. Blame the timing, always blame the timing. If I were to meet him earlier, then things wouldn't be so complicated. You knew it, circumstances do not allow this. What would you do when you found out the truth?

So I will end this blogpost with a famous quote "God has better plan for us, today may not be the day, but someday it will be". Lol. That's two quotes.

I'm fine by the way, if you are wondering. I am hot. Literally. Penang's weather is killing me softly.

Catching Up With Time And Soaking In The Present Moment

Hello, wow. Never been into writing my blog twice in a day. I must have miss being able to pen down my feelings lately. Internal exams has long gone and my last external paper for June would Corporate Reporting. Another 3 more in December if I pass the June paper. I might be going UK for three months to get my degree if I were to pass my internal papers in mid June. Results will be released on May 7th. Our batch is the last batch for this program as Tarc has been upgraded to TARUC status and thus they offer degrees rather than advance diplomas.

Today was my first group presentation for the UK modules which is the Management Skills for Business Decision Making. My first presentation to lecturers from other country. It was one hell of an experience. As usual I was nervous, procrastinated till this morning to memorize my script and yet it turns out not entirely awful. I think I'm getting the hang of it. Maybe I will like doing presentations after all. All those years of choral speaking did some impact on the ability in speaking in public eh.

Time flies, while I was driving past setapak area, PV 5, I saw sophomores transferring their luggage into the condominium with mattresses and etc. How time flies. Like it was yesterday that I just came over to KL for my advance diploma session. In a blink of an eye, we are graduating and leaving this place. I mean I. I get overly attached thus I used the word "we". LOL 

I stayed with my sisters about 25 minutes away from the college with normal traffic. The bond grew close- I meant me and KL. Leaving people behind. I'm not sure if I'm able to to. I know, I used to complaint how much I miss Penang. In time, bond grew no matter what. Heavy heart in leaving KL.

Taking monorails and to stare into the space/KL scenery is a tranquility. Loading superbly fast movies online using UNIFI will be deeply missed too. I miss having the freedom in a way in KL. I get to do what I want and when I want to. I would like to believe that goodbye is process of growing up too.

I'm  not sure why I get so emotional for all of the sudden. Maybe I'm listening too much into

Perfumes

Hey y'all. It's been so long since I wrote something about beauty stuff. Today I've decided to talk about perfumes. I'm a fan of smelling good. I'm sure you had agree with me for being attracted to people who smells nice. :)

Let me share a daily situation. It usually happens, while I was walking around in the shopping mall and someone smells really good who passed me by. I would take a deep breath and the scent would lingered for a few seconds before it disappeared. :)

All of the products was not sponsored by any party and therefore I would not consider this as an advertorial post. This can be a good heads up for those of you shopping for gifts for your spouse. :)

I own my first perfume back in Form 4. On a trip to Bali, Indonesia. I shopped at the duty free in the airport. The experience of buying my first perfume was a big headache. There were so many choices in the market. So by the time I tried on the third perfume, I forgot how did the first one smelled like. I would recommend you to buy a perfume which suits you in a non-rushing manner. Unless you are extremely sure of how the perfume smelled on you- I wouldn't recommend you buying without trying it out. Do spray on either side of your wrist and rub both your wrists and smell it. Usually, the sales person would give you a small stripe of paper with perfume on it. If you like the smell, do try it on your wrist as different body brings out the perfume differently.

My first perfume: Flight of Fancy by Anna Sui.
It has a really light and sweet floral scent. Refreshing.
My choice because I don't like something overpowering which is more suitable for evening wear. This is suitable for all occasions.
50ml for RM185+ from duty free.

I got this for free from donating to charity. I didn't know I would have a free gift is return. Was so happy. :) I had itchy hands and thus I went and google the price of the perfume. It costs around RM160.
It has a light refreshing scent of lilies. 

This is Pivoine Flora by L'OCCITANE.
This is another floral scent, more powdery than the first two. Sweet but not overpowering.Base notes provide a fine trail of vanilla, musk and cedar.
Long wearing and more suitable for sensitive nose. RM130 for 75ml.

Funny by Moschino. I always love Moschino.
It has a playful yet tasteful scent. Citrus fruit like scent. Mild and refreshing.

This is 5th Avenue by Elizabeth Arden.
More of a lady. Elegant. Jasmine? Another powdery scent.
Classic and feminine. Straighforward no edge or twist.

Miss Dior Cherie by Dior.
It was a gift to me and I happened to drop the tiny perfume bottle.:'( Love the smell so much.
Extremely feminine. More like a in love scent that you would wear. Base Note: Italian Mandarin Essence, Egyptian Jasmine Absolute, Indonesian Patchouli Essence.

Mango Temptation by Victoria Secret.
This is a fragrance mist. Definitely live up to its name- Mango.
Superbly sweet fruity scent: Mango and whole lots of sugar. Base notes: Mango nectar and hibiscus
It reminds me Dragon Fruit car scent by Ambi Pur. My fav!
Hopefully your spouse doesn't bite you.

This is Endless Love by Victoria Secret. Another fragrance mist.
Base note: Apple Blossom and Ylang Ylang.
Of all the scent, this is less preferred. I don't like it.
Ylang Ylang gives an edgy smell. Like medicine? lol

The entire household collections. lol.

This is Versus by Versace.  Smells really good.
It is fresh, playful and celebrates femininity in the same time.
Base notes:  kumquat, star apple (Chrysophyllum cainito) and lemon; a heart is composed of orange blossom, stephanotis and Centifolia rose, while a base finishes with musk, patchouli and ambrette seed.

Magnifique by Lancome.
I love this very very much but I don't own this.
I was introduced to this years ago.
Very refreshing, playful and feminine. Mild.
The fragrance features saffron, caraway, rose, jasmine, sandalwood, vetiver and cypriol oil or nagarmotha.

Now, there is no reason to smell yucky anymore. I wouldn't say it is an essential but it does brings out the confidence in my opinion. My favorite would be all except the Endless Love Fragrance Mist by Victoria Secret. I apologize if my description is almost similar because, we (me & my sisters) do hunt for mild fragrances. None of the above smells the same at all! (if you're wondering-LOL)



Please do visit the shops and try it on before you decide to buy one. It lasts really long though its only 50ml.
Now to write this blog post, I am covered in six perfumes. Hallelujah. Please pray hard that I will not get any flu tomorrow due to allergies to perfumes. HAHAHA.

I hope you will get some useful insights from this blogpost.  You don't have to look like celebrities on the red carpet to feel confident but smelling good is a great start. No more smelling yucky okay?  :P
