Tour Guide #2 / Driver / Penang (Day 2)

I am back again!
Second day begins with me being Zombie. The effect was real quick. The cons of staying away from my real home was the bed. I miss my bed at home terribly. I tried to minimize the impact by bringing pillows, my "Bantal Busuk" along but still, I couldn't sleep properly. I think I am overly exhausted to begin with too which explains the not being able to fall asleep part. Nevertheless once I am with the gang, I don't think about it anymore. They were so good at distracting me. Spending time with people your age is a good remedy for whatever things you are going through.

First destination was Teluk Bahang Dam. Few hundred meters from Bayu Emas Apartment. I've visited this place a few times. One of the main sources of water for the whole Penang Island. We had a new guest. Coco!

Boo Yah! :D

Scattered around enjoying the view.

I love the rocks. Beautiful isn't it?

Next venue, we proceeded to Zheng Khin's Parent's Shop by the name of Fook Cheow Cafe.

Exterior view of the shop.

Kuih Teow Th'ng.
Everybody said the soup was really good. Some even said, it's the best food they had in Penang.

It was ZK's parents' treat. His mother even said, "If you want to add, don't be shy".
Thank kiuuu Aunty! :)

After we were all satisfied, we went to Chew Tean Yang. The biggest pet shop I've ever seen in my life. It was also my first visit. I think I failed being a Penangite as there are many places I don't know.
We were greeted by a few parrots at the main entrance.

Hello. Hello.
<Just saying. It didn't said anything. HAHA>

Raccoon?
I'm like WOAH. They have raccoons here.
It's like Pocahontas Dream Come True

Good Old Classic.

I thought monsters like this exists only in Ultraman?
Turtle/Tortoise: *Yawning. YOLO thus sleep more*

Me and my brother!
Pretty ladies taking a rest.
Spot that cat: Imma' take a shower. *Lick lick*
Candid! The dog on the right seems to blend in very well too. LOL
We then proceeded to get our cars and eat CENDOL. It's not the usual Penang Famous Cendol but according to the locals which is ZK, both the famous Cendol uncle and this uncle "graduated" from the same Master. ZK also says both tastes the same and the queue is very long. "Why queue when you can have the same thing?"

Tadaa!

Pro at work :)

The main attraction of this dessert is the green worm-look-a-like.It is not made of any disgusting ingredients. Just plain coconut milk and pandan for the colour. Brown sugar too.

Imagine us crowding the stall. Free advertisement! :D
Next venue: Kek Lok Si. You are not a tourist if you did not pay this place a visit. A Chinese Temple. There were new structures such as the The Kuan Yin.

The Pagoda behind is the older building that exists some time ago.

Random shots. Heading to see the life liberation pond.

The life liberation pond for tortoises/ red neck slider.

You can purchase Kangkung/Water Spinach to feed them.
It's a good way to earn good merits.

Kai Lun with two hot chicks! ;)
Wah Gor won the beauty pageant contest.

Goat girls.
Monkey Business.

Lanterns with donors' name.

I love this section. You choose any wish which you want to fulfill, each ribbon costs RM1. Then write your name, and hang on the tallest branch.
It is believed that the higher you can hang the ribbon, your wish will come true.

Star jump! Monkeys! Trampolin!
Group shot :)
After taking tons of pictures, we decided to go uphill to the Air Itam Dam. I thought there was only one dam which was the Teluk Bahang Dam but no. There was one more. On the other side of the island. It was windy and we pretended to be shampoo models. Letting the wind carries strands of hair. Bla bla bla, stuff like that. -.-

The picture ain't doing it justice. It was a peaceful and nice looking place.
I saw uncles exchanging stories at the benches like they are holding an AGM.

Kathy: Is that what I think it is?
Kuan Ling: I wana see if I have any food in my bag.
Ivy: Stop it paparazzi. I am not in the mood to take pictures.
Ivy's Bf: Candy crushing!
Yours truly and Jasmine.
The two love birds. Matching black singlets. Leaning on shoulder. Enjoying the same view.
So much love. LOL

Mini group shot. Some went missing.
For late lunch, they had laksa. Wah Gor's voice was too sexy to take spicy and sour food and I am suppose to avoid spicy food too. So we both went to somewhere else to have plain soup food.
Penang Laksa. Slurps.
Candid shot by Kai Lun

We then proceeded to Little Genting Hill. Yes. Another place that I don't know exist. It was further than Teluk Kumbar. The road uphill was really steep. > <.  We were supposed to catch the sunset.

Breath taking view :)

Me and Charis :)

Membajak tanah

I love the chilling session. It's a windy day.

Lih Pyng managed to capture the sunset while we were on our way down.
In Bukit Genting, it was blocked by a big mountain. :)
We came down for dinner. Hai Boey Seafood. We split into two tables. The food was so fresh. I've never tasted such fresh fish. Then again it's Garoupa fish. Not cheap. At the price of RM70. Then again, it was really worth it because it was really really yummy!

The restaurant is located by the beachside. While waiting for our orders, we stroll by the beach.
Feeling thicked skin, I played the slide.
Unfortunately, I got stuck. It was slippery enough to slide down and not because I am fat.
I AM NOT FAT~!

Fried Calamari

Fried Prawn(Ha Kou Yok) with Kerabu Mango

Steam Garoupa Fish in Thai Sauce

Stir Fry Kai Lan

And the last dish was Salted Egg Crab. It was like the bomb. We didn't take picture as we were busy eating. OM NOM NOM!

Satisfied customers. :)

Satisfied customers table 2.

We then go on separate ways to diverge the attention of Kim Mooi. Her belated Birthday celebration. Charis has to tell Kim Mooi a lie, saying that Jun Yi's car spoil already, let's change car. So all my loyal passengers have to change to ZK's car while I take in his passengers. I drove my passengers to Gurney to buy a cake. Thanks to Teresa, she jumped out of the car with Jasmine and Wah Gor buy the necessary items.

Surprise! :D Happy Birthday To You~

I have to distract Kim Mooi by hugging her and telling her I was so tired and bla bla bla. She got shocked and tried to runaway after being presented the cake. Milo had to hold her down. Hahaha!

Then some of them decided to go toilet. In batu ferringhi beach, there is no public toilet. You will need to sneak into hotel's toilet. They decided to sneak in into Flamingo Hotel. And then~

You Die Now!

Jocelyn was one of them too.

They got "thrown" out of the hotel by the security. Hahaha. Because they were too noisy. LOL.

We then left after enjoying the night breeze by the beach. I stopped in Hard Rock Hotel, just to show them around. I love Hard Rock Hotel as always.

A must shot! :)

Pretty ladies. <3

When we got back to Bayu Emas, I immediately rush to the bathroom and take a shower. Everybody needs their shower really bad. After showering all of us was very happy. A catch up session with some of them. It was a great bonding time. My sleeping partners for the night was Kuan Ling and Kathy. They were so nice. Unlike my BFF, whom sleep on top of me, kick me, steal my blanket and bla bla bla. LOL

Stay tuned for Day 3. So sorry for the inefficient long lost blogpost.

I got hooked with Dayre for my daily rants. Do follow me on: dayre.me/junyihoe

Love y'all! :)

Tour Guide #2 / Driver / Penang (Day 1)

HOMAIGOD. Two days in a row, slept 3-4 hours as you, my readers already knew if you happened to see me posting a status about that in Facebook. My college classmates came over Penang. 8 people came by flight and 7 people by Avanza. All managed to arrived safely in Penang around 7.30 pm on 16th Dec. First venue was dinner. Tour Guide #1 leads the way. We went Pulau Tikus for hawker food. Variety ranging from Lok Lok, Char Kuih Teow, Sze Kuih Th'ng, Takoyaki, Wan Tan Mee, Curry Mee, Hokkien Mee and many more.

Mouth watering: Lok Lok
Group shot by yours truly.
My hp camera not bad leh.
They were so hungry that I think they can swallow a cow. Milo ended up feeling vomitty after eating too much. Kai Lun's car arrived few hours earlier and they have been touring around gurney drive using Waze. After dinner, we went to Mini Mart for toiletries as AirAsia disallows certain amount of liquid to go on board and after that we went Public Bank for $$$. Next venue was to Straits Quay. The light house and the Christmas Deco was the main attraction. It always reminds me of Singapore each and every time I go to Straits Quay. There weren't much awkward moments. I was worried that I might not be able to social around, but they were really nice. All of them. :)

We hung around Straits Quay and took tons of pictures.
Some were missing, wondering around. HEH!
Ze Boys
Oh, and a few of us kept declaring that we have boats in Straits Quay. I was one of them. LOL

"This is mine"/ "Mine is that one" / "Wana buy? I'm selling."
Wah Gor with three hot chicks!

They were smiling so happily. :)
From left: Ivy's bf, Ivy, Kathy and Kai Lun

Cameraman in action. Teresa.
Spot posers on the left. HAHAHA

He was jailed. lol

We then headed to Penang town for supper. Abu Mee Goreng. My favourite Penang Island supper.
It was that good ya' know.

The only decent shot I had for that night.
The rest of the pictures, I swear I look like a pregnant lady. The shirt was too loose. Ugh.

Babe is showing off her Roti Tisu. So tall. :O

Both was really tired.

I heard that they like the Maggie Goreng. Sadly, they were too full to order one portion each. They can only share.

Calyn did a great job by helping us to book two units of Bayu Emas Apartment. RM197 per night. On the day of check in, they charged us RM199. Hmm. Who cares. There were 2 toilets per unit to accommodate 17 people. Good enough. Thanks dearie!
Will be continued with Day 2 on the next post.

Stay tuned.

A Date With BFF

Holaaaa my dearest readers. How have you been? Last Saturday, I went on a date with my Nerd Nerd (Janet). Weee. She came all the way from Old Klang Road to pick me up. I assume the journey was quite jam because it's a Saturyday. Went Barbeque Plaza for the very first time. My very first time. I don't fancy grilled & steamboat that much to go to restaurants like these. Anyhow, my family and I fancy typical Chinese dinner. Rice and dishes. So forgive me, I am from the jungle. LOL

My Date

Fancy Set Up. lol

They wanna charge us RM1 each for this napkins. Luckily, we didn't use it. Phewww~

Mixed Set. Pork, Chicken, Lamb, Beef, Prawn, Squid, Udon, Cabbage.

Deep Fried Enoki Mushroom wrapped in thin Pork Slices.

It was really good. For the price you are paying- which is affordable, it's a nice dinner. We chatted, acted sampat, it's a really good bonding time since it's been a long time we met. Coincidentally, we both haven't wash our hair that day. So it's not a problem that it's gonna stink afterwards. *evil grins*

The irritating part would be, towards the end of the meal when we asked for the bill, no one wants to deliver it. Why? Free ah? Being impatient of us as usual, we took the bill, walk to the counter and made the payment. Left the shop feelin' slightly pissed off. But the moment we entered Popular, we were lost in the world of storybooks and novels. LOL

I came across a book. Understanding Your Digestive System Better (Something like that) and its disgusting. lol

We wanted to go to the arcade but we ended up~~~~~

Can You Imagine? We took pictures using the Japanese Photobooth.
Oh my, the editing function was so awesome.
#we looked so pretty
Another yam cha session with Babe in Alexis, Bangsar on last week's Monday.

Pavlova/ Meringue RM16

Om nom nom!

I had Chamomile Tea while babe had Long Black. I don't understand why people can stand the bitterness? -.- The aroma I guess. It smells good but definitely too bitter for someone who loves putting sugar and creamer in their coffee.

I had a thing for Alexis. I don't know why. It's been a total of 4 times I visited this place. The food and ambience is really good. Too pricey for student though.

My another babe is in Perlis, Jmin. Sigh, when will the three of us hang out like we used to? Everybody is going in different ways and it's so difficult to meet up. Ish.

I hope everyone is doing fine or great  :)
Take care y'all!

Love,
Purple Dino
